26-09-2014

Nathalia Martinez Saavedra is a Colombian architect and visual artist graduated in 2009 From Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá. After Several years working on commercial and residential projects as architect leader she decided to follow a two year master program in Interior Architecture And Retail Design at theiet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam. “During my masters graduation project I was free to combine my fascination for photography and my study of interior spaces into a visual and conceptual analysis. My work reflects a close connection to the means of representation and visual experience of interiors and it is based on the analysis of space through the exploration of its atmospheres. The use of photographic methods to study space allows different ways of reading the same interior and reveals multiple hidden elements present in spaces that could influence future designs. The Nomination for the BNI Price is a great honor and motivates me to continue my research and future development of my design concepts. I am excited about sharing my project with other designers and artists interested in the exploration of new perspectives and potential outlooks for the interior architecture field.”
